Bio
Zoe Englander
I am currently based in Charlottesville, Virginia, where I work as an engineer in a neuroscience lab. I am also an oil painter; I am inspired by the beautiful, fluid colors of oil paint (specifically I love alizarin crimson). I am currently working out of a box of paints given to me by my Aunt Marion that originally belonged to my grandfather. My mother, Karen, is an amazing artist and I grew up in an incredibly talented and inspirational household that I am very grateful for. My paintings are based in realism, but mostly I attempt to work with the natural capabilities of the oil paint and how the colors mix and move. I try not to be too analytical or precise.
