Bio
Carol Barsha Artist's Statement
My drawings and paintings are personal and iconic, with imagery that is both surreal and expressionist. I draw and paint to give voice to my deepest feelings about nature and the life around me. I am interested in the spontaneous play of light and color and my need to absorb and transform what I see and feel. When I observe something that is often quite mundane, I first make a point to become familiar with it and then let myself begin to see it in a new way. I want to create something original, to turn things I see in the visible world into fantastic versions of themselves.
